11月的上海冷风瑟瑟，阴雨绵绵，却阻挡不了LS中学部同学们参加英语节活动的热情。本次英语节的活动精彩纷呈，除了有项目化学习，还有Spelling Bee拼词比赛，让孩子们感受到了学习英语的乐趣。
In the drizzling and windy Shanghai winter, LSS students were still eager to participate in the English Festival. A variety of interesting and well-madeproject presentations were expertly presented, and the Spelling Bee Competition also helped our students feel the joy of learning English.
英语节一共有两项活动：项目化学习和Spelling Bee。经过中外教老师和同学们长达2个月的准备，每个班选出一个小组进行参加最终比拼。这是一场令人热血沸腾的比赛，它不仅扩充了同学们的词汇量，提高了英语综合能力，更给同学们提供了非常好的交流与比拼的平台。
There were two activities: Project-Based Learning and the Spelling Bee. After two months of preparation, teachers and students selected a group for the final competition from each class. This was an exciting competition, which not only enlarged students’ vocabulary and improved their English comprehensive ability, but also provided students with a good opportunity to communicate and compete. The candidates were selected through a series of tasks.
参赛选手们凭借着实力过关斩将，通过层层选拔，最终由6A班的徐书弈同学Toby，施彦泽同学Leo，李棣华同学Anna和邱添启同学Aisha，以及8B班的徐心妍同学Chloe, 尹彭同学Robin, 姜梦兮同学Cici和海月同学Selina斩获项目化学习的冠军，6D班的Rachel李子涵同学和7B班的戴殳润同学摘下了Spelling Bee的桂冠！恭喜他们！
Eventually, Toby, Leo, Anna, and Aisha from 6A and Chloe, Robin, Cici and Selina from 8B became the winners of the Project-Based Learning. Rachel Li from 6D and Diamond Dai from 7B won the Spelling Bee contest! Congratulations！

为了本次演讲，我们小组的每个成员都付出了巨大的努力。无论是演讲的选题、资料的查询，还是小组讨论、演讲模拟，我们都倾尽了全力。这里也非常感谢Ｍr. Andrew对于我们演讲的指导。获奖后我们小组成员非常激动，那么多的努力终于取得了回报。大家在英语演讲和团队合作方面也都有了明显的进步。希望未来所有同学能更积极地参与学校的英语节活动并取得收获。
Preparing for this speech, everybody in our group made a great effort in choosing topics, information researching, group discussions and speech rehearsal. Thanks to Mr. Andrew for giving us some guidance and suggestions during the preparation. We are so excited in winning the competition. All the effort payed off. We also made great progress in English speaking and teamwork. I hope that more students will take part in the English festival and make excellent achievements!

我非常赞赏他们精美的PPT和自信，流利的演讲，很容易让人理解。从中，我还获取了许多有趣的知识，那些从课文里获取不到的知识。接着，是激动人心的SPELLING BEE，当选手们上前答题时，观众们都摒住了呼吸，我也紧张起来。最后我们班拿了第二，这比赛着实有趣！另外，幽默的主持人Mr. Gary也让这次英语节变得更加吸引人。
I admire their excellent, amazing PPT and confident speech. I also attained knowledge I cannot get from textbooks. Next is the spelling bee. When the competitors stood forward, the audience held their breath. I was nervous too. Finally, our class was second. This competition is really interesting! In addition, the hilarious host Mr. Gary makes the English Day more fascinating.

我们参加了准备已久的英语演讲。不过我感觉在平常的英语课的排练中，我们组还有进步的空间。各个班的代表选手也是为英语节开了个好头。轮到我参加Spelling Bee的时候，我也是非常紧张 ，手都在抖。心里想到自己不能为班级丢脸。可惜在第二轮我就被淘汰了。但是这次活动让我更加喜欢英语了，各种的活动也可谓是好戏连台，精彩呈现！
We held a long-prepared English speech. However, I feel that in the normal English class rehearsal, our group still needed improvement. The representatives of each class also made a good start for the English Festival. When it was my turn to join the Spelling Bee, I was not only very nervous, but my hands were also shaking. However, I thought that I couldn’t let other classes look down on us. Unfortunately, I was eliminated in the second round. Still, I love English more because of this activity. All kinds of activities can be described as good films and wonderful presentations!

我有幸获得了这次G6年级Spelling Bee比赛的冠军，通过这场比赛，锻炼了我随机应变的能力，使我在学习上和人生领悟上都有很多收获。Spelling Bee比赛就像一场探险，你永远不知道下一个会遇到什么单词。但我知道，只要你具有挑战精神，拥有超强的自信，就一定会成为永远的winner！
I was very lucky to win the Sixth Grade Bee Spelling contest, which helped me develop my performing skills, and I learned a lot from it. The Spelling Bee is like an adventure, you never know what the word is and what the teacher is going to say next, but one thing is for sure — as long as you have the spirit of challenge and have confidence, you will become a champion forever!

I practiced my oral English and self-confidence when preparing for the speech contest. I also learned a lot from other excellent speeches during this time. I hope I can make further efforts to present a more perfect speech next time.

在这次“SUIS英语节”英语演讲比赛当中，我作为一名选手，感受颇深，这也是我第一次参加这样展示自我的一次比赛，对于我来说意义非凡，学到了不少。收获荣誉的同时，我的心灵受到了强烈的震撼和洗礼，参加此次演讲比赛是我人生中非常特别的一次体验，不仅仅是比赛的环节和考验给我留下了深刻的印象，而且这一路走来的心理历练也让我收获颇多。
通过这次演讲比赛，首先我最想表达的就是感谢。正是因为老师们和同学们对我的全力支持，才有了我出色的演讲。在舞台上我差一点点忘记台词的时候，是你们在帮助我。很感谢你们。

In this “SUIS English Festival”, I joined in the speech competition. As a competitor, I had had mixed feelings. This is also the first time for me to participate in such a competition to show myself with the other three group members. It means a lot to me and I have learned a lot. While gaining the honor, my mind was strongly shocked. Taking part in this speech competition is a very special experience in my life. I was deeply impressed not only by the contents and tests of the competition, but also by the psychological experience in preparation.
Through this speech competition, first of all, I would like to express my thanks. It is because of the supports from my teachers and classmates which made me have an excellent speech. When I almost forgot my words on stage, you helped me to remember it. Thank you very much.
I think each competition helps us grow up, therefore, I will treasure the harvest from the speech experience and continue to encourage myself to move forward.
